Track Headers

Contents > Basic Controls > Track Headers

Each track has a track header with an activity meter and a pair of buttons that control whether the track is active.

The Mute button disables a track when highlighted.

The Solo button enables a track and disables all other tracks when highlighted.

When both buttons are highlighted, the Solo button overrides the Mute button.

Use the F3 and F4 keyboard shortcuts to quickly cancel the Mute or Solo buttons for all tracks at once.

Track Organisation

JUMP supports 12 tracks grouped into 4 types...

Three types of motif are supported, depending on the type of track...

Tracks 1, 2, 3, 7, 8, 9 Lead/Bass Motif monophonic sequence (one note at a time)
Tracks 4, 5, 6 Chordal Motif polyphonic sequence (many notes at a time)
Tracks 10, 11, 12 Rhythm Motif drum sequence

Each type of motif has it's own specialised editor.

Note the only real differences between a Lead and a Bass motif are the track's Octave and the default settings for the Shift and Fit buttons of the Lead/Bass Motif Editors. This means that you can, for instance, use a spare bass track as a lead track simply by adjusting the track's Octave and if required the Shift and Fit buttons.

Tracks 3, 6, 9 and 12 are disabled in the Demo version.
