Use this page to add human-like variations to the performance of each track.
Use the Page Selection Tabs to display the Humanise page.
| Because some of the effects of humanisation are rather subtle, it might be best to familiarise yourself with the rest of JUMP before exploring humanisation in great depth. However, don't ignore it for too long as it's very useful for adding "life". |
The default settings add just enough variation and expression to remove the robotic feel that would otherwise result.
Each track has it's own set of humanisation controls.

8th Note Swing
Use the 8th Note Swing control to adjust the timing ratio between pairs of 8th notes. When the swing control is at the minimum setting both 8th notes are the same length, this is called a "straight" groove. As the swing control is increased the first note of each pair becomes longer and the second note begins later in time and becomes shorter, producing a "swing", "shuffle" or "uneven eighths" groove.
At the minimum setting the ratio between the notes is 1:1
(50% / 50%).
Swing/shuffle rhythms typically use a ratio of 2:1 (66.6%
/ 33.3%).
At the maximum setting the ratio between the notes
is 3:1 (75% / 25%).
Use the F6 keyboard shortcut to quickly toggle between 1:1 and 2:1 settings.
